Farhana Akter Khan Appointed Managing Director of the Botswana Ecosystem Development Group – Pulaspace and FarhanasBrainstation Unite to Celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025
Gaborone, Botswana – July 31, 2025 – The Botswana Ecosystem Development Group is proud to announce the appointment of Farhana Akter Khan as its new managing director. The group is made up a Botswana's leading ecosystem stakeholders and was formed by Mooketsi Tekere, the founder of Pulaspace, an investment firm. Pulaspace serves as the Host Organization for Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). With her leadership, Pulaspace and FarhanasBrainstation are joining forces to kick off a powerful series of activities and initiatives in celebration of GEW 2025 in Botswana.
Farhana Akter Khan is an internationally recognized innovation and entrepreneurship leader, known for her strategic vision, inclusive approach, and deep commitment to youth empowerment. She brings more than 12 years of experience working with startups, INGOs, and multilateral organizations including UNDP Timor-Leste, Grameenphone Accelerator, and Dotlines Social.
As the Founder of FarhanasBrainstation, she has led SDG-driven leadership accelerators, design thinking bootcamps, and digital literacy programs across Africa and Asia. Her work has helped thousands of young people build real-world skills, develop impactful ventures, and join the global innovation ecosystem.

In celebration of GEW 2025, Farhana will lead a week of impactful programs under the theme “Together We Build”—focused on renewable energy, digital transformation, inclusive innovation, and youth entrepreneurship.
The flagship event, Botswana Entrepreneurship & Innovation Summit, will be co-hosted by Pulaspace and FarhanasBrainstation on November 18–19 at Botho University, featuring 20 innovators from across Africa, engaging panels, youth showcases, and collaboration zones for investors, partners, and changemakers.
This year’s GEW Botswana activities will aim to reach 2,000+ participants through online and offline events including:

Women-in-Tech Roundtable
AI & Agri-Tech Knowledge Exchange
The goal is to foster a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. Under Farhana’s leadership, the network will scale partnerships, capacity-building programs, and global collaboration for startups, students, and social impact leaders across the region.
