To contribute to the UNSDG #4: Quality of Education and #8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, GEN Cambodia in partnership with Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC) has developed a program to involves youth and university students in training and leading projects run by the Association and more. Junior Entrepreneur Program (JEP) is a program that aims to promote potential youth to market themselves in current job market during their academic lives, and empower them to make impact, and create positive changes in Cambodian’s society. JEP is designed to gather undergraduates to receive learning opportunity from professional trainers and entrepreneurs, to keep track of their learning and leading to develop themselves on both hard/soft skills, and finally, to prepare themselves for their future endeavors.
When the program kick started in June 2020, 27 selected candidates attended 6 training sessions on different topics including:
- Project Management,
- 7 Habits of Highly Effective Entrepreneurs,
- Behavioural Assessment Tools (DISC),
- Basic Performance Management (KPI),
- Public Speaking,
- Digital Literacy/Business Innovation.
Simultaneously, these participants took part in assisting ongoing projects hosted by GEN Cambodia and YEAC where they were handling project management i.e. planning, implementing, M&E, report writing. Some participants handled media and publicity materials of the two organizations. Upon completion, some of them have been recruited by YEAC’s member companies, some have excel in their career path while some have been putting what they have learned in good use.
