Cinema, technology and innovation: “The Circle”. Deusto Entrepreneurship Week 2023

As part of the Deusto Entrepreneurship Week and within the various events included in the Global Entrepreneurship Week, from theInnovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the University of Deusto, in cooperation withForoTech, We want to invite you to a “movie” afternoon!

It is a day in which we will see the film "The circle" and then proceed to a small forum where we will reflect on online privacy, female leadership and technology.

“The Circle,” starring Emma Watson and Tom Hanks, tells the story of Mae Holland (Emma Watson) who gets the opportunity to work at one of the most influential technology companies in the world: “The Circle.” It is there that she will be involved in an innovative experiment that will question the limits of user privacy, including her own personal freedom.

This is a film that raises one of the most controversial questions regarding the technological advances of our era: How much information are we willing to share to make our daily lives easier?

After watching the film, a debate will be organized, led byCristina Gimenez, director of University-Business relations, andGarbiñe Henry, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.We will have the expert Peru Sasia, with whom we can share the most striking aspects of the film and discuss its meaning and moral impact on the viewer. For those of you who already know the film, you will agree that there is a lot to comment on.
