Barranquilla, Colombia – The Global Entrepreneurship Network is thrilled to announce the launch of a new Startup Huddle chapter in Barranquilla, Colombia. This initiative aims to bolster the growth of the local startup community while harnessing collective wisdom to aid its entrepreneurs. Barranquilla is now part of an expansive global network of more than 60 Startup Huddle chapters worldwide and hosted its inaugural event on March 20, 2023.

In complementing direct support to entrepreneurs, the Startup Huddle program addresses a crucial factor for all entrepreneurial ecosystems – connectivity. As per GEN research, startup communities exhibiting higher levels of local connectedness lead to an augmented number of startups – with founders who are highly connected growing their revenue twice as quickly as those with lower levels.

Ricardo Enrique, the local organizer and Chief Innovation Officer at Innfluence, told us, "Startup Huddle is vital for Barranquilla as it fosters a platform for conversation and community-building at the most basic yet fundamental level. It serves as an organic link among local strategic players to enhance innovation."

At each Startup Huddle event, local founders will give six-minute presentations outlining the challenges their companies face. These presentations will be followed by a 20-minute conversation with an audience of peers, mentors, educators, and advisers, all providing constructive criticism focused on finding solutions and increasing the founders' knowledge. The community continues to expand with new founders cycling through each gathering, while previous presenters join the audience to reciprocate.

Enrique adds, "Through Startup Huddle Barranquilla, we aim to encourage conscious connections, promote sharing of big ideas and facilitate powerful collaborative work. We envision building the largest community and preparing the ecosystem for Global Entrepreneurship Week."
