Cyndie Mynatt Proves Why Diversity is Good Business!

Diversification is Needed in the Auto Industry

Cyndie Mynatt, President of Ben Mynatt Family of Dealerships has ranked again on the list of largest Charlotte-area-based women-owned companies. Join us as she shares the lessons she learned over 31 years in the male dominated automotive industry.

"It never occurs to me. I never think of myself as a woman in a man's business," she says. "Our customers are male and female."

In 1983, she had taken time off from work in pre-Columbian archeology at the Mint Museum to be at home with her newborn son, Ward. But that didn't last.

As many are well aware, the automotive industry is male-dominated; a study conducted by NADA in 2015 found that only 18.5 percent of retail auto workers are women, despite the fact that 80 percent of buying decisions are made by women. And since then, the numbers haven’t changed much.

Studies have shown that companies with more diverse leadership are eight times more likely to have better business performance, 21% more likely to outperform other organizations on profitability, and six times more likely to be innovative and agile overall. https://superdispatch.com/blog/why-diversification-is-needed-in-the-auto-industry/
