Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Global Entrepreneurship Network is excited to announce the opening of a new Startup Huddle chapter in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to support the growth of the local startup community while crowdsourcing advice and support for its entrepreneurs. Addis Ababa joins a global network of more than 80 Startup Huddle chapters worldwide. The chapter first convened on Nov. 25, 2023.

In addition to providing direct support to entrepreneurs, the Startup Huddle program addresses a critical element of success for all entrepreneur ecosystems – connectivity. According to GEN research, startup communities with higher levels of local connectedness translate to an increased number of startups – and that founders with high levels of connectivity grow their revenue twice as fast as those with lower levels.

"We are launching Startup Huddle in Addis Ababa to foster a sense of community among people with common goals and interests and to contribute to the community's social and economic well-being," said local chapter organizer Almaw Molla.

Startup Huddle Addis Ababa events will feature local entrepreneurs presenting their business challenges in six-minute sessions, followed by 20 minutes of feedback and discussion with an audience comprising peers, mentors, educators, and advisers. This format is designed to provide immediate, actionable insights and to foster a supportive community atmosphere.

The chapter is supported by COFFEE RESURRECT, Inc. in partnership with Atmosphere, a multipurpose cultural and creative space.
