Ecosystem Building Comes of Age

A key part of GEN’s mission is building one global entrepreneurial ecosystem. In July 2018, the U.S.-based Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation noted at its E-SHIP Summit that “momentum is growing around entrepreneurial ecosystem building.” It embarked on fueling a movement that developed design principles, values, and goals to connect people from the bottom up and outside in. 

In this session, GEN founder and president Jonathan Ortmans will share how GEN is guiding communities on this topic worldwide. Ortmans will be joined by some of the leading voices in the field as they share thoughts on how using systems thinking, ecosystem building has matured to include policymaking, economic development, education, and inclusion in efforts to remove barriers to entrepreneurship and drive economic growth in communities throughout the world.
