Knowledge Diffusion Through Research on Entrepreneurship

Few countries take the time to examine international indicators. Korea set the example this Tuesday, Nov. 17, with an international seminar focused on entrepreneurship research.

As part of its GEW celebrations, the Korean Entrepreneurship Foundation (KEF) brought to Seoul the researchers behind global indicators with the objective to scrutinize Korea’s current status in global context. Among entrepreneurship indicator experts were Mariarosa Lunati, head of section at the OECD Statistics Directorate; Ainsley Lloyd, global operation coordinator for the Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI); and Moonsun Kim, director of education and research at KEF.

As South Korea searches for ways to step forward as an entrepreneurial nation, KEF is taking up the task of advising policymakers carefully. The objective of this particular GEW event was to “examine international indicators on entrepreneurship and startup activities to identify which elements have an important influence on policymaking,” explained Jaeyoung Park from KEF.
