Intellectual Property Considerations When Starting or Growing Your Business

Agenda:

1. The first portion of this event is structured as a presentation that covers the topics of patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, confidential information & licensing.
2. The second half of the meeting will give the participants the opportunity to ask questions.
3. After the event, participants will have the opportunity to schedule a free one-on-one consultation with the instructor and discuss their specific IP-related challenges.

The presenter is Vadim Cherkasov, partner at McCarter & English, LLP. Vadim is an intellectual property attorney with a focus on domestic and foreign patent and trademark prosecution. Vadim worked as a mechanical engineer prior to his legal practice and has over 10 years of experience with patents in a wide range of technologies, including medical devices, electrical systems, software-based systems, power generation equipment, and a variety of mechanical devices/systems. In addition to the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, he has experience with patentability and freedom-to-operate (FTO) searches/opinions, as well as licensing issues. Vadim’s clients include individual inventors, start-ups, and established companies, and he guides clients in the entire process from invention disclosure discussions to commercialization.
