Amman – The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) launched today, Tuesday, the Youth Spaces initiative at Al-Shuhada Park in Abdoun, aimed at supporting and empowering young entrepreneurs and women to develop their creative projects in a safe and inspiring environment.

The event was inaugurated by Eng. Ziad Al-Reyhani, Deputy Chairman of the Greater Amman Municipality Committee, on behalf of the Chairman. Al-Reyhani emphasized that this initiative reflects GAM’s commitment to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, supporting social and economic projects that create job opportunities and enhance the quality of life in the capital.

Rasha Al-Shawarbah, Director of Queen Rania Al Abdullah Gardens, explained that the launch coincides with Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), which is supervised by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE). She noted that the initiative aims to transform public parks into open community platforms for discovering talents and creative ideas.

Al-Shawarbah added that Al-Shuhada Park was chosen for its central location, accessibility, and its well-equipped facilities suitable for hosting inclusive events, especially for persons with disabilities.

The youth spaces feature a variety of entrepreneurial and artistic projects in sustainable agriculture, fine arts, handicrafts, and recycling — including a hydroponic farming project using artificial intelligence and an initiative to convert olive waste into eco-friendly cement. The exhibition also showcases artwork by children with disabilities and innovative projects by students from Al-Hussein Technical University.

The exhibition will run for three days from the opening date, with plans to dedicate weekly days thereafter for continuous and free exhibitions, offering participants ongoing opportunities for interaction and marketing.

GAM invited the public and innovation enthusiasts to visit the youth spaces, explore the participating projects, and contribute ideas that strengthen Amman’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The opening ceremony was attended by Eng. Hatem Al-Hamlan, Deputy City Director for Community Development, along with several department heads, representatives of national institutions, and partners in the entrepreneurship and innovation sectors.
