Global Entrepreneurship Week is officially underway in Kosovo, after an opening ceremony attended by the country's president Vjosa Osmani.
In her opening remarks, President Vjosa said: "Despite the fact that both in Kosovo and around the world these are difficult times, Global Entrepreneurship Week, with a special skill, transforms into a festive week that focuses on the union of innovative minds, courageous individuals, inspiring personalities, and girls and boys who want to turn their ideas into concrete and successful initiatives."
She also acknowledged GEW Kosovo host organization Innovation Centre Kosovo (ICK) for bringing the celebrations to life.
"While it is well known that November is a month of holidays for us in Kosovo, ICK and its partners have worked hard over the past ten years to make November a reference month for innovation, the growth of the ICT sector, the development and management of startups, as well as a month when potential investors, collaborators, and financiers turn their attention to Kosovo in order to see the possibility of developing projects and new collaborations in the field."
More than 90 activities will take place across Kosovo this week with support from 70 partners.
"Our societies are constantly evolving," said President Osmani. "At the core of this evolution has always been entrepreneurship, the desire to do things better and the commitment to improve the standards of life for as many people as possible on the planet we live on."
