Mrs Monica Geingos Concludes Effective Engagements on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79)

The day dovetailed into Mrs. Geingos' participation in the Summit of the Future Action Days, specifically at the side event held at the UN headquarters, titled "Building Foresight Competencies and Networks to Empower Youth in Africa," co-hosted by the Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Service, UNFPA, and the One Economy Foundation, of which she is the Executive Chairperson. In 2017, One Economy Foundation hosted a “Be Free” intergenerational dialogue in Harlem, New York and to co-host a high-level Side Event on a similar topic represented a full circle moment for the non-profit. During her engagement on the expert panel, Mrs. Geingos highlighted the Be Free Youth Campus as a scalable and comprehensive youth development model that provides integrated and non-judgemental services for young people. She also explained how listening to young people and effective partnerships have been critical to its success. She concluded her remarks by indicating developmental models succeed when there is consultation and implementation of strategies that address local needs and ideas.
