Oshoveli Shipoh was always curious at the emancipation of the worldly order that he grew up in.
In order for him to be emancipated by this he had to really submerge into his eagerness for creativity, through drawing. At the age of 6 was really it was the time he discovered he could draw really well. From there he started participating in art competitions from kindergarten to primary school.
When in high school the discovery for painting became a strong awareness for all the people around him, he got into it as well and won the art for earth competition about 3 times.
When people started asking him to make portraits for them for as little as N$50, he was oblivious to the fact that his entrepreneurial skills had already started during the school days. So for a few years he would sell portraits of people and they would hang it in their houses or even give it to their friends as gifts.
The best experience of his life was making a portrait of Frank Fredericks on a canvas and presenting it to him in 1996. His reaction was very priceless, he picked the nominee up and hugged him and said he loved it very much.
After leaving high school he was enrolled at the University of Namibia. He majored in Art for Advertising as well as Textiles and Visual Arts. Advertising incorporated the commercial industry which got him hooked on wanting to pursue advertising as a career.
After graduating in 2008, he got hired for his first role as a graphic designer. To his disbelief actually he never spent enough time on a computer yet to master the graphic designing skills. However, his conceptual thinking landed him job as a junior art director and he would then improve his skills.
Nine years and counting after several awards, he was promoted to Creative Director, he then resigned to start his own company called Street Leader Creative. He pursued film as well and won an award for Best New Director.
Now he considers himself as a Creative Entrepreneur… whats next? Shhh It’s a secret but to be revealed soon.
