Zizza Makazi Girls Project
According to the analysis of the sciences it was determined that solar energy is the cheapest form of energy worldwide, currently and the most sought after to bring down https://lnkd.in/enqU-JPs. Everyone jumped on the solar wagon over the last decade.
Locally, it is being processed as we are going along. Systems are expensive and again we leave out the most vulnerable to educate them about having the sun as a source of energy. We at GEN Namibia, have put together a solution for the most vulnerable rural societies in our beautiful Namibia, the rural women, and girls.
The solution you might ask is what? The Zizza Makazi Techno Girls project of GEN Namibia is tackling the technical know-how #quality #quality #quality of solar system installation and maintenance for small communities. We have a sponsorship for three areas in Namibia, Namely Okanguati in Kunene Region, Luderitz informal settlement, Karas Region, and near Usakos in a village.
What will a Zizzi Makazi Techno Girls Homestead look like? It will have 1.5 kw solar system that cover 5 lights, a fridge, a television set, and an internet modem for three households. These are necessary to address the Sustainable Development Goals 1-5.
The women and girls in the project will obtain technical skills to install and maintain solar systems as well as a biogas plant. Instruction manuals will be a handout to keep as a reference. Empowering women and girls with technical know-how and improving quality of life by earning through potential contracts.
We need additional financial and technical assistance to also provide the biogas training exercises. It has been proven that it works with models in northern Namibia. This initiative will spread the use of biogas nationally. Connect via inbox
