Intro to SBIR/STTR Grants

Do you have a technology idea that needs research and development funding before it can become a product? The federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs award billions of dollars every year to small businesses doing innovative R&D, funding you don't repay and don't trade equity for. This one-hour introduction covers how the two programs differ, which federal agencies participate, who is eligible, how the phases are structured, and what a competitive proposal requires. Participants will leave knowing whether their idea is a fit and what their next step should be. Ideal for founders, researchers, and faculty exploring federal R&D funding for the first time.

Instructors: Kris Bockting, Missouri APEX Accelerator, and Bob Glidewell, Missouri SBDC at Mizzou.
