GEN in China

The Global Entrepreneurship Network has a long history in China, with programs spanning nearly two decades to make it easier for anyone to start and scale businesses. GEN began operating in China in 2007 when it piloted Global Entrepreneurship Week, a movement to celebrate and empower entrepreneurs in every country and community around the world, in partnership with the Shanghai-based Entrepreneurship Foundation for Graduates (EFG). The initiative was met with great enthusiasm across China’s growing entrepreneurship ecosystem and the national Chinese campaign laid the foundation for the expansion of the program that now stretches across the world reaching 200 countries and territories.

Entrepreneurs Thrive Here: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026

Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
