An Affiliate of the Global Entrepreneurship Network
GEN Ireland
GEN has been active in Ireland since the founding of Global Entrepreneurship Week in 2008, with the national campaign first led by Think Ireland, then subsequently by Meath Enterprise. In 2021, Meath Enterprise CEO Gary O'Meara led the creation of GEN Ireland, with a mission to foster deeper international collaboration and develop a healthier start and scale ecosystem in the country. Ireland's landmark moment in GEN's global calendar came in 2016, when Cork hosted the Startup Nations Summit — the first European city to do so — drawing leaders from more than 70 countries and serving as the launch platform for the GEN Atlas.

Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
