GEN in Kuwait
GEN began operating in Kuwait in 2012 when it partnered with the Shuwaikh Vocational Incubator to organize Global Entrepreneurship Week. The initial campaign planted the seeds for a more structured campaign that would grow steadily over the following decade. The next year, private-sector sponsors, universities, and international partners joined the campaign by organizing events and programs that connected founders with investors and other ecosystem leaders. As the campaign matured and the coalition of organizations grew to include Kuwaiti founders, investors, and international business leaders and strategists. GEN’s coalition includes Amideast Kuwait, the accelerator Etlaq by Launch, the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) Startup Lab, and the U.S. Embassy. GEN's work in Kuwait features engagement with the public institutions charged with growing the startup sector. The National Fund for SME Development, Kuwait's state vehicle for financing and supporting new enterprises, is a member of GEN's Startup Nations community. GEN’s goal is to provide Kuwaiti founders reliable access to the knowledge, networks, capital, and policy support that help firms start and scale, and to keep Kuwait connected to a global community of entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers.

Entrepreneurs Thrive Here: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026
Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
