GEN in Papua New Guinea

GEN began working with Papua New Guinea's entrepreneurial community in 2014 when it launched the annual Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) campaign in partnership with Kumul Foundation. GEW anchored a series of larger gatherings, including the PNG Regional Business Conference, an SME Festival, and the Startup PNG Convention helping to break down barriers and expand the number of people who consider becoming an entrepreneur. GEN also connects PNG founders to its global programs. Through global competitions offering training, mentorship, and prizes, local founders are able to compete on the world stage. For PNG ecosystem leaders, GEN's global gatherings, including the Global Entrepreneurship Congress, highlight new trends and expertise in bringing new resources to founders. GEN's goal in PNG is to turn a young, fast-growing population toward enterprise, connecting its founders with the knowledge, networks, capital, and policy support they need to scale.

GLOBAL SPOTLIGHT

Entrepreneurs Thrive Here: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026

Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
