Bikema Academic Centre

BIKEMA ACADEMIC CENTRE is a private secondary school located in Area 24, Lilongwe, Malawi. It offers high school education at a small fee of US$20/term to enable children from low-income families get an education which will not only change the life of a child but of the family and community. Founded by two young Malawian education graduates despite having no resources but out of passion and determination to make a difference. You can go to school in Malawi until the 8th grade but if you want to go to high school there is fees associated with it. Although high school remains a basic public service in many countries across the world, millions of children in Malawi, do not have the opportunity to attend high school. Many children drop out of school after receiving free primary education. They are deemed unworthy of financial support because of their economic status. With 50.7% of Malawians living below the poverty level, education fails to be seen as a priority. The school was established to address the Inequality between children from well to do families and those from poor families.
