In total, 18 entrepreneurs with disabilities received seed capital delivered by the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Carla Bacigalupo. The beneficiaries were winners of the contest called Mbarete IV, where they were supported and accompanied during the process of creation and strengthening of their business plans.
The delivery of seed capital is part of the Sape’a 2.0 project and represents an opportunity to implement the business plans developed by young people who were previously trained within the framework of the project.
Sape’a 2.0 is a project jointly developed between the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (MTESS), Plan International Paraguay, and the Saraki Foundation. The initiative is financed by the Spanish Cooperation - AECID Paraguay and covers ventures in the Central, Guairá, San Pedro, and Caaguazú departments.
The beneficiaries were trained through Entrepreneurship and Business Plan courses carried out by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security through SINAFOCAL.
During the ceremony, Minister Bacigalupo highlighted the importance of investing in human capital through training and seed funds that will allow many compatriots to carry out their ventures, which will generate economic income and as their businesses grow, they will also generate jobs in their communities.
This project has been operating in the country since 2015 and hopes to contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda in Paraguay and specifically the goals to achieve SDG 5 (gender equality and women’s empowerment) and SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth).
