The MIC encourages the consolidation of entrepreneurs focused on innovation and technology
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), through the Vice Ministry of MSMEs, is in the stage of consolidating the country’s entrepreneurs who are dedicated to the development of projects associated with innovation and technology.
In this sense, the Deputy Minister Gustavo Giménez, of the Vice Ministry of MSMEs, held a working meeting with representatives of the Paraguayan Association of Venture Capital (PARCAPY), to exchange criteria on the modalities and alternatives of access to financing that entrepreneurs in the sector have.
The objective of PARCAPY is to promote the financing of entrepreneurial initiatives and innovative initiatives, with various government institutions, investors, and key players in the industry. The main purpose is to transform Paraguay into a prominent center of investment and technological growth in the region.
Directors of the firm, Isaac Gutiérrez and Viviane Bernardes, executive director and president of PARCAPY, respectively, who work mainly with startups, were at the meeting. They explained that they seek to facilitate dialogue between these entrepreneurs and investment funds, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by globalization and technology to drive the development and internationalization of projects linked to startups.
The Paraguayan Association of Venture Capital (PARCAPY) is a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting and developing the venture capital industry in Paraguay as a driving force for the economy.
Recently, PARCAPY conducted an analysis of sales and employment of startups that received Venture Capital investment in Paraguay. The document analyzed the direct (for startups) and indirect (for users who use the platform) impact on the Paraguayan economy. The study was called “Report 2014-2022 - Analysis of Venture Capital in Paraguay-”, being the first study on investment and its contribution in startups.
