Various leaders of the National Entrepreneurial Ecosystem have enthusiastically received the appointment of Mr. Juan Antonio Paredes Romero as head of the National Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DINAEM), attached to the Vice Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MIPYMES). This nomination, made by Resolution No. 176 of March 11, 2024, signed by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Francisco Javier Giménez, marks a significant milestone in the promotion of entrepreneurship in our country.
Juan Antonio is a professional with a consolidated career in the field of public policies for entrepreneurs and MSMEs in Paraguay. Since the end of 2018, he had actively participated in the first steps of the DINAEM, being the first Technical Secretary of the National Entrepreneurship Network (Red PyEmprende) and promoting the first initiatives in the area of promotion and innovation. Since 2020, he has stood out as a Point of Contact in Public Policies of GEN Paraguay, being recognized for his leadership and dedication to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem. His disposition and consequence over time have been manifested through various initiatives, such as his participation as a Jury in the “Entrepreneurship World Cup”, his contribution to the “Global Entrepreneurship Week”, his active participation in the “Global Entrepreneurship Congress and Startup Nations Summit 2022”, as well as in the regular meetings of the “Startup Nations Members Call”.
Throughout his career, he has demonstrated commitment to the needs and challenges of entrepreneurs and MSMEs. His approach has been fundamental in promoting evidence-based policies, as well as in the implementation of innovative tools such as Exporta Fácil, aimed at enhancing the internationalization of entrepreneurs and MSMEs which, after taking over the Technical Coordination, came into effect after more than 7 years of waiting.
The update and development of a new format of the MIPYMES Portal, the main reference for the dissemination of information, tools and opportunities aimed at MSMEs, decision makers and interested parties in general has been another initiative promoted by him in recent times.
Juan Antonio stands out as an interlocutor of the sector, supporting the interests of the entrepreneurial sector in the design and implementation of public policies. His active participation in discussion spaces has enriched the debate for the promotion of solutions adapted to the needs of the Paraguayan entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Juan Antonio Paredes is a committed GEN leader with experience in the sector, whose appointment at the head of the DINAEM, augurs a promising future for the development of entrepreneurship and MSMEs in our country.
