From November 17 to 23, Paraguay once again joins Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), reaffirming its commitment to innovation, resilience, and economic development through entrepreneurship. Since its launch in the country in 2008, this celebration has been driven by the National Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DINAEM), under the Vice Ministry of MSMEs, part of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Under the leadership of Economist Juan Paredes, DINAEM coordinates national participation alongside more than 40 organizations from the National Network of Entrepreneurs, RedPyEmprende, which brings together public, private, and academic actors from across the country. This collaboration positions Paraguay as a regional benchmark for entrepreneurial mobilization.

Entrepreneurship to Transform

DINAEM’s mission is to foster entrepreneurial spirit and culture across all educational levels in the country, while establishing tools for research, development, and sustainability of entrepreneurial projects. Through economic and financial support measures, and via the Entrepreneur Support Centers (CAE), it promotes the strengthening of business capacities and the growth of MSMEs in their respective regions.

“We’re excited to actively participate in Global Entrepreneurship Week and once again place Paraguay on the world map of innovation,” said Juan Paredes. “In every corner of the country, Paraguayan entrepreneurs will gather for this global celebration of the power of innovation. This is their opportunity to show the world their creativity and resilience.”

A Global Movement, A Shared Vision

Global Entrepreneurship Week is a movement celebrated simultaneously in over 170 countries, with tens of thousands of events designed to empower those who have ever asked: Could I create something of my own? This year’s global theme, “Together We Build,” highlights the collective power of community, collaboration, and shared ambition.

During #GEW2025, Paraguay will focus on key topics such as:

  • The role of artificial intelligence and technology in strengthening strategic sectors
  • Women and youth leadership in the entrepreneurial ecosystem
  • Sustainable innovation and climate resilience
  • Access to investment and financing

“This week is designed to inspire action,” added Paredes. “We want bold ideas on the table. We want to hear from women and young entrepreneurs about their journeys and how they can be supported. GEW will help founders take a step forward to develop the confidence, tools, and networks they need to thrive.”
