Entrepreneurship in Paraguay is no longer just a subsistence alternative or a creative response to everyday challenges; today, it has become a fundamental driver of economic transformation, innovation, and job creation. This dynamism does not go unnoticed: Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) is rapidly consolidating as one of the most active and connected regions in the world within the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), and our country is writing its own success chapter in this story.

Paraguay: local talent with international reach

In recent years, the Paraguayan ecosystem has demonstrated that it possesses ideas, projects, and founders capable of competing in the global big leagues. A clear reflection of this has been the outstanding performance of local entrepreneurs —such as in the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC)—, where national representatives have managed to position themselves among the best in the world, bringing Paraguayan innovation to global stages.

Likewise, legal and formalization tools such as Simplified Joint-Stock Companies (EAS) have overcome historical barriers, making it easier for thousands of new businesses to be born, grow, and formalize their working capital in the country. This shows that when entrepreneur resilience is combined with smart public policies and consolidated support networks, the impact multiplies.

Connected to scale

Belonging to GEN Global gives us a unique competitive advantage: breaking down borders. Through initiatives such as Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), mentorship programs, public policy communities (Startup Nations), and regional investment networks like the GEN Invest LatAm Council, Paraguayan founders have direct access to:

  • Global financing opportunities and venture capital.
  • Specialized mentorship with international experts.
  • Strategic alliances with multilateral institutions and innovation support networks.

The time to act is now

The growth of the LAC region —which today concentrates massive programs, public policy communities in over a dozen countries, and a solid institutional network backed by partners like the IDB— leaves us with a clear message: the economic future is built from the entrepreneurial base.

From GEN Paraguay, we reaffirm our commitment to continue boosting, connecting, and showcasing local talent. We invite all actors in the ecosystem —founders, community builders, investors, researchers, and policymakers— to actively join this network.

Because when a Paraguayan entrepreneur grows, the entire country grows. Let's keep igniting the spark of innovation!
