Two Paraguayan entrepreneurs, Carmen Paredes from RURUKA and Claudia Requejo from MOBI Latam, have achieved outstanding recognition by ranking among the Top 100 best startups in the world. Both will represent Paraguay in the finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 5 to 9, 2024, as part of the Biban 24 forum.
The Entrepreneurship World Cup is one of the largest and most diverse pitch competitions and support programs of its kind. Each year, tens of thousands of entrepreneurs from 200 countries compete for 1 million dollars in cash prizes and millions more in investments, support, and publicity through national pitch competitions, bootcamps, and a global finals event attended by top investors. Since its launch in 2019, the competition has connected founders with over 4 million dollars in cash prizes and another 266 million dollars in benefits and free services.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosts the final rounds of the contest, the closing ceremony, and the award distribution with the participation of the top 100 entrepreneurs who will qualify for the final in Riyadh as part of the Biban 24 Forum.
The EWC finals are a special moment for the global community. Not only do the competition and sessions bring together in person the top 100 emerging companies (from among tens of thousands that GEN has met worldwide), but it is also a fitting grand finale to highlight our leaders: the founders. This year, nearly 5,000 investors are expected to participate.
The four days of live competition and mentorship will serve as the cornerstone of a broader event organized by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises of Saudi Arabia, Monsha’at, called Biban 24.
The participation of Carmen Paredes and Claudia Requejo in the finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup is not only a source of pride for Paraguay but also an inspiration for entrepreneurs worldwide. We wish them much success in this competition and in their future ventures!
