MANAGING DIRECTOR
The Managing Director for GEN in Saudi Arabia serves as the chief executive overseeing all operations and client relationships in Saudi Arabia. With the help of a small staff, responsibilities include delivering on project KPIs, overseeing the office, and building on groundwork to date in growing the organization’s relationships with key Government agencies and institutions that support entrepreneurs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The candidate will receive the support of GEN Global staff in the United States and Europe, access to GEN’s IP and programs, an extensive network of Managing Directors and communities around the world and the momentum and a baseline brand recognition established by GEN convening the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Riyadh in March 2022.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Managing Director will have both internal and external facing responsibilities. Internally, the successful candidate will be skilled at developing and managing a team that delivers on program goals, KPIs and outputs. Externally, the MD is responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships and partnerships to both help implement existing programs and initiatives and develop new clients interested in accelerating the performance of the Saudi Entrepreneurial ecosystem. As the public face of GEN in the KSA, the candidate should know the Saudi ecosystem and be comfortable with writing externally facing content and public speaking.
The MD will also leverage all that GEN Global has to offer in terms of connecting existing efforts in Saudi Arabia aimed at fostering a new generation of entrepreneurs with their respective counterparts in relevant nations where GEN operates around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Establish and manage new GEN operation in Saudi Arabia including overseeing regulatory filings, financial reporting and human resource requirements.
- Oversee initial program offerings to include: The Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) Saudi Arabia, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) KSA and Startup Huddle.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders to include Monsha’at among others as the founding underwriter of GEN activities in the KSA.
- Serve as a local liaison for GEN’s Executive Vice President, GEN’s Global CFO and the global Program Manager for the EWC in managing Monsha’at’s sponsorship of EWC Global.
- Establish GEN as a leading global brand in the KSA alongside the likes of Techstars, 500 and
- Plug and Play and serve as a convener of new leaders and organizations in the ecosystem for success.
The candidate must be experienced and knowledgeable about innovation ecosystems, startups and the entrepreneurship constituencies that surround them. CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
GEN Saudi Arabia is seeking a Chief Operating Officer for GEN’s new chapter in Saudi Arabia. The COO is responsible for all accounting and reporting issues related to the 5 employees in Riyadh reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with GEN Global CFO, Alan Simensky.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage government contracting administration with Monsha’at/ other KSA government agencies.
- Perform and manage HR functions for 5 people.
- Oversee accounting operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger entries.
- Implement finance and accounting policies and procedures, perform all office management.
- Ensure prompt and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Complete all regulatory filings and reporting.
- Prepare timely financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GEN Global and related statutory requirements.
- Develop and forecast proposal, program and office budgets under the direction of the CFO.

PROGRAM MANAGER FOR GEW + STARTUP HUDDLE
GEN Saudi Arabia is seeking a Program Manager to run and grow GEN’s startup-facing programs in Saudi Arabia. The Program Manager is responsible for implementing two programs in coordination with Monsha’at – Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Saudi Arabia and Startup Huddle.
Global Entrepreneurship Week is a massive annual campaign that celebrates and empowers entrepreneurs – especially those individuals who face structural barriers or may have never considered the idea of launching their own startup. Startup Huddle is a program building local startup communities across the Kingdom.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW): This is a national annual campaign that celebrates and empowers entrepreneurs across Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing all aspects of the national Global Entrepreneurship Week campaign in Saudi Arabia
- Building, coaching and managing a network of event organizers
- Recruiting, engaging and managing campaign partners
- Recruiting and managing campaign sponsors
- Forming and convening a national GEW Advisory Board
- Ensuring all campaign materials adhere to official GEW brand guidelines
- Promoting awareness of the national GEW campaign in the media, among the general public, partners and ecosystem stakeholders
- Ensuring all campaign activities are added to the official GEW campaign website
- Managing the presence of the national campaign on the GEW global platform
- Sharing national highlights with the global team
- Measuring, analyzing and reporting on the performance of the campaign and its partners.
- Sharing campaign results and success stories with the national and global communications teams
- Helping to raise awareness of partner events and ecosystem activities throughout the year
- Serving as a liaison with the global community of GEW hosts – sharing the Saudi experience and incorporating new ideas tested with other similar national campaigns
Startup Huddle: This program builds local startup communities while crowd-sourcing advice and support, one entrepreneur at a time. It consists of monthly, if not weekly, gatherings of local community and business leaders, founders, ecosystem builders, investors and others interested in helping startups to flourish. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Recruiting, onboarding, mentoring and growing a world-class community of Startup Huddle organizers across Saudi Arabia
- Actively identifying, recruiting and securing partners, perks and mentors to support startups across GEN Saudi’s startup programs
- Developing and implementing a community engagement strategy and calendar for the program
- Managing and collecting program reports and analytics from local Startup Huddle Organizers across Saudi Arabia
- Compiling monthly reports for Startup Huddle chapters and sending them to GEN’s Director for Startup Programs
- Driving ongoing program improvements based on community feedback, performance and program retrospectives
- Overseeing the program website along with partner / local organizer engagement, applications and regularly updating relevant content in conjunction with the GEN Saudi communications team.
- Ensuring all Startup Huddle Local Organizers are following website, branding and program reporting guidelines

PROJECT MANAGER FOR EWC
GEN Saudi Arabia is seeking a full-time project manager principally to manage Saudi Arabia’s edition of the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC), a global program with a goal of engaging
entrepreneurs from 200 countries each year. At the center of the program is a virtual accelerator with tailored training resources supporting entrepreneurs at all stages through the world’s largest startup competition. The Project Manager will also support the global operations of EWC and is responsible for supporting EWC in multiple capacities ranging from interfacing with EWC finalists from around the world to actively supporting the EWC Saudi Arabia Finals and the EWC Global Finals held in Riyadh. The position reports to both the GEN Saudi Managing Director and the EWC Global Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the execution of EWC in Saudi Arabia with the support of the EWC Global Director
- Utilize all necessary event documentation, including creating project plans, workbooks, templates, etc., and working with partners to guide and capture their processes
- Be the face of EWC in the Saudi community
- Successfully execute the EWC KSA National Finals, working with program and partner staff, on event logistics including program and presentations, sponsorship recognition, displays, speakers and post-event follow-up and closeout activities
- Support EWC’s global operations, using a customized platform for competitions, evaluations, and data hub.
- Manage a variety of technology tools and online platforms for document sharing, communications and material submission
- Perform a post-project analysis with key stakeholders to analyze program success and identify opportunities for future years
- Work closely with the Communications Team on messaging and media outreach, including digital media and other communications channels for the program
- Support customer service for contestants
