SBAR: A Science Venture Studio Happy Hour

Join us for another SBAR, a happy hour with the Science Venture Studio, to learn about the rising science and technology companies and resources that are in Arkansas. During the SBAR you will be able to network with innovators, ecosystem supporters, and community members as well as learn about resources that can support you as you grow your company or how you can contribute to this budding ecosystem.

Our featured speaker will be Amy Hopper, Program Manager for the Arkansas Research Alliance (ARA). Amy coordinates activities that expand collaboration and innovation among research leaders and institutions in the state. Amy recently launched the ARA Core Facilities Exchange (CFE), a virtual clearinghouse of research instrumentation and scientific equipment. It is an online database of nearly 300 unique research instruments available for use around the state. The benefits are envisioned to: stimulate and improve research, enhance grant competitiveness, foster collaboration, reduce redundancy in capital expenditures, and increase instrument utilization.

Prior to joining ARA, Amy directed a regional accelerator for scalable, early-stage entrepreneurs located throughout Arkansas and the Delta Regional Authority territory. She developed program curriculum, instructed entrepreneurs, and collaborated with entrepreneurial support organizations throughout the country to recruit entrepreneurs, mentors, and instructors into the program.

At the event on the 14th, Amy will talk about the Core Facilities Exchange. This platform helps entrepreneurs access equipment at major universities and facilities across the state that could be critical for research and development of their technology.

You will also be able to network and connect with companies located at the research park. You can check out ARTP by clicking on this link.
