Startup Grind with Blake & Brandon Shirk

Lake Walk Innovation Center

Startup Grind is a global partner of the Kauffman Foundation-funded Global Entrepreneurship Network in Washington, D.C. Global Entrepreneurship Week is celebrated worldwide this year on Nov. 8-14. Startup Grind-Aggieland meets year-round and also sends members to global conferences. Established at Texas A&M University in 2014, the local chapter is now based at Lake Walk Innovation Center in the Texas A&M Health Biocorridor. Meetups are free. This special GEW edition of Startup Grind will feature William Cole Co. CEO W. Spencer Clements as panel moderator. William Cole Co. is the Bryan TX based developer of The Stella Hotel in Aggieland and The Josie Hotel in Canada.

Meet SOVA Hospitality Cofounders Blake and Brandon Shirk, graduates of Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. The twin entrepreneurs launched their boutique social hotel startup as students, but actually built it during the global pandemic, sourcing furnishings internationally to overcome the supply chain disruption. SOVA caters to digital nomads and other "location independent" workers who may visit Deep Ellum during their travels in the Lone Star State. This social micro hotel is community driven with events designed for young professionals and entrepreneurs.

No reservation required. Casual attire. Free beverages and parking. No membership necessary or admission fee.

An Official GEW2021 Event.
