Startup Huddle Barcelona

The event, which took place on July 5th, has brought together nearly 40 professionals from the world of entrepreneurship and mentoring at the Scientific and Technological Park of the University of Girona.

Albert Colomer, president of Autoocupació, was in charge of welcoming the attendees. Miriam Planella, delegate of Autoocupació in Girona, and Anna Albar, director of the Scientific and Technological Park of the University of Girona, also spoke at the event. Following that, Guillem Arís, director of the Foundation, explained the functioning of Startup Huddle and facilitated the event.

The first entrepreneurs to present their challenge were Olga Barcons and Màrius Mansilla, from Escape the Town, an app-game that allows you to discover various towns in Catalonia and Spain in a playful way. The attendees helped them with their challenge: how to get the economic involvement of the town councils in their project.

The second challenge was presented by Txell Descarrega, partner, and founder of the cooperative Hèstia Benestar. This workers' cooperative aims to dignify the lives of elderly and/or dependent people to promote their autonomy. The challenge they face is how to find suitable candidates for the workforce to respond to peak periods of work, offering fair wages while maintaining the quality of the service.

After the presentation of the challenges, Albert Piñeira, vice president of the Diputació de Girona and responsible for the Area of Culture, New Technologies, Sports, and Education, gave a speech.

The event concluded with a networking activity between the attending entrepreneurs and mentors
