Symptify is a Miami-based startup that wants you to be healthy the accurate way.
The startup’s founder Jalil Thurber explains that the idea for Symptify came from his 11 years of experience as emergency medicine physician in the United States – specifically in Houston and Miami. When on call, Dr. Thurber would encounter patients who had used the Internet to self-evaluate their medical conditions, which often resulted in misdiagnoses. The team wanted to solve this problem and find a way to keep their patients healthy and safe. They decided to create an application that could provide the correct information to patients at the touch of a button.
Symptify’s mission was simple: to simplify symptoms.
Their application provides information for not only users, but also for healthcare facilities and self-insured agencies. Users of the application simply log on and submit what symptoms they are experiencing. The platform generates a series of questions for the users to help determine a likely diagnosis.
A finalist in Startup Open 2014, the Symptify team has been successful in accomplishing their goals. The team believes in focusing its work on serving others.
“The world has enough money-making enterprises and needs more companies with solutions to the world’s pressing problems,” Thurber said. “Symptify aims to uphold this belief by providing a platform that will help how people live healthier lives.”
