Why Innovation in healthcare is so hard
Keynote Dr. Nishi Viswanathan
Faculty will share perspectives and innovations from ongoing research.
Are you developing a healthcare product or just interested in learning more about healthcare innovation? Successful products are easy to find because their stories get told. But for every successful product, there are hundreds that have failed to reach their full potential. Dr. Nishi Viswanathan will cover all the challenges along the journey to making a difference in this space. What speed bumps do innovators need to watch out for as they design their commercialization plans? And why is healthcare so hard?

Dr. Nishi Viswanathan is a medical doctor turned cancer researcher turned business leader. She is currently the Head of Commercialization & Business Development at Innovation Lab, a health technology company that partners with member-owner health systems to develop and launch medical device and digital health products that address clinical unmet needs. She serves as an advisor to multiple medtech & healthtech startups and an angel network. Nishi also teaches health innovation & entrepreneurship at the University of Texas at Austin where she is an adjunct faculty member.
