Manchester, UK – The Global Entrepreneurship Network is excited to announce the opening of a new Startup Huddle chapter in Manchester, England to support the growth of the local startup community while crowdsourcing advice and support for its entrepreneurs. Chennai joins a global network of more than 80 Startup Huddle chapters world-wide.
In addition to providing direct support to entrepreneurs, the Startup Huddle program addresses a critical element of success for all entrepreneur ecosystems – connectivity. According to GEN research, startup communities with higher levels of local connectedness translate to an increased number of startups – and that founders with high levels of connectivity grow their revenue twice as fast as those with lower levels.
Manchester, recognized as one of the best places in the UK to start a business, is now taking a significant leap forward in supporting its entrepreneurial community. The Startup Huddle program in Manchester is designed to provide residents and small businesses with a supportive environment for learning and sharing.
"Our aim is to connect startups and potential entrepreneurs across the city, particularly focusing on traditionally under-represented parts of the community," Startup Huddle Manchester organizer Jonathan Ebbs explains. "Manchester's diversity and welcoming nature are its strengths, and we want to ensure that everyone gets the support they need to succeed."
At each Startup Huddle event, local founders give six-minute presentations outlining challenges facing their companies. Each presentation is followed by a 20-minute conversation with an audience of peers, mentors, educators and advisers who provide constructive criticism focused on finding solutions and increasing founder know-how. With new founders cycling through each gathering, and previous presenters joining the audience to give back, the community continues to expand while connections deepen.
Jonathan adds, "We are dedicated to establishing a lasting community that is accessible to all. The Startup Huddle is not just a meeting point but a breeding ground for innovative ideas and strong business partnerships."
Supported by Manchester City Council and the Business and IP Centre Greater Manchester, Startup Huddle Manchester encourages entrepreneurs, potential partners, and anyone interested in the local startup ecosystem to participate.
