To celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022, GEN UK hosted the second Startup Planet conference focusing on green and blue entrepreneurs from around the world and COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh. Don’t worry if you missed it, all sessions are available on demand at gewuk.org Counting down to the start of GEW around the world, we drove our Startup Planet electric car on the first envirodrive from Glasgow, Scotland, home of COP26, to Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt this year’s venue for COP27. Envirorally’s Clara Stone completed over 3,000 miles in 15 days, across 11 countries in 2 legs taking 15 days from start to finish. En route she visited sustainability and innovation hubs, was welcomed by embassies, and received the kindness of strangers when she needed a charge. Her epic journey culminated in her crossing the finish line at the Innovation Zone at COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Our partner Blue Marble is assessing the carbon footprint of the whole journey. Huge thanks to Bloomsbury Institute for their support and Bloomsbury Radio for their daily live on the road interviews with Clara. Thanks too to all our partners including GEN, GEW, GEN UK, GEN Egypt, GEW Denmark, Danish Entrepreneurs, eDrive Egypt, Relimb, Blue Marble, the Glasgow Science Centre and of course COP27.
Startup Planet 2022 features 7 panel discussions and interviews with leading net zero entrepreneurs and innovators from around the world, including Sharm El Sheikh, Santiago, Venice, London, Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Thailand, Marrakesh, Athens, Orleans, Dubai, Paris and Cairo.
