Meet Our AMA Guest: Rebecca Nguyen

Rebecca Nguyen is the founder of ValleyMatch, an Elk Grove-based matchmaking startup recently acquired by DateSpot. A determined entrepreneur and certified matchmaker, Rebecca launched her company while navigating new parenthood and leaned into Sacramento’s startup community to grow her vision. From pitching at 1 Million Cups while seven months pregnant to doubling her business through the FourthWave accelerator, she took bold steps to scale.

ValleyMatch was founded to change the way people experience datingditching impersonal swipes for real, intentional connections. Powered by AI and guided by human matchmaking, the startup quickly gained traction through local pitch events, grant programs, and accelerator support in the Sacramento region. After winning the 2024 Pitch Elk Grove competition and securing a $30K grant, ValleyMatch was acquired in 2025 by national platform DateSpot. The company’s journey highlights how mission-driven innovation and community investment can lead to meaningful success.
