The Global Startup Ecosystem Ranking 2015 was released earlier this week, exploring the top 20 major city ecosystems around the world. Silicon Valley once again comes out on top but cities like Berlin, Singapore, Bangalore, Amsterdam and Montreal all made big jumps.
The report was released by Compass in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network, Crunchbase and others. The list is produced by ranking ecosystems along five major components: Performance, Funding, Talent, Market Reach, and Startup Experience.
In a foreword to the report, Steve Blank emphasized the spread of entrepreneurship:
“The democratization of entrepreneurship from Silicon Valley and from startup ecosystems all over the world is creating new strategies and structures for that disruption and innovation. It is the strategy lessons from startups that will light the way for the massive restructuring of all corporate structures by the middle of this century. Only then will we look back and realize that we were just beginning the economic revolution of the wired world.”
