US Finalist Announced for DECA Ideas Challenge

The Working Bees of the United States Naval Academy as the DECA Idea Challenge 2013 United States finalist. A featured event of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the competition challenged elementary, secondary and college students around the globe to generate an innovative, new use for an aluminum beverage can that created value while being feasible and sustainable – in just eight days. 

Nearly 800 teams and 3,000 students presented their new uses for the item in a three-minute YouTube video. DECA, the competition organizer, is an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs and has 200,000 members -- divided into  in nine countries.

The Working Bees will advance to compete in the global finalist round, as well as receive recognition on both the DECA Inc. and Global Entrepreneurship Week websites. The team will also be recognized at one of DECA’s International Career Development Conferences in the spring of 2014.
