As the Global Head of Strategic Partnerships and Growth at Alibaba.com, he leads the development of innovative partnerships and commercial solutions to address the evolving needs of global B2B buyers and sellers. Alex focuses on empowering entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized businesses by leveraging Alibaba.com’s B2B e-commerce platform, which offers a range of resources for sourcing, sales distribution, business services, and ecosystem support.

With over a decade at Alibaba, Alex has played a significant role in driving the company’s global expansion. As Director of Marketing and Business Development, he spearheaded Alibaba.com’s market entry into Latin America, laying the groundwork for a strong regional presence. Later, as Head of Licensing and Partnerships for Alibaba’s Digital Media and Entertainment division, Alex helped forge iconic collaborations with globally recognized names and franchises like Taylor Swift, The Louvre Museum, Star Trek, and Mission Impossible.

Before joining Alibaba, Alex spent over five years at PayPal, where he managed global digital marketing strategies, analytics, and operations across 120 countries. Prior to that, he worked at HSBC Bank as an analyst and product marketing manager, contributing to the growth of the company’s financial services business.

A graduate of UCLA with dual degrees in Economics and Sociology, Alex is passionate about learning from businesses and entrepreneurs, connecting resources, and building partnerships that create meaningful, lasting impact.
