Ana Maria Torres

Ana Maria Torres is a senior advisor to the Global Entrepreneurship Network where she previously served as the Director for Global Ecosystems and the Entrepreneurship World Cup. She has been an advisor and consultant for governments, international organizations, and the private sector for over 17 years, focusing on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship at the national, regional and global levels.

As Director for Global Ecosystems and the Entrepreneurship World Cup, the biggest and most diverse startup pitch competition and support program of its kind, featuring more than 400,000 entrepreneurs from 200 countries, she managed a global community of entrepreneurship ecosystem leaders and partners to identify, support, and help scale businesses at all stages. Since 2019, this program has helped the most innovative and talented pioneers; they have raised more than $200 million in investment and received $356 million in in-kind services. Prior to this role, Ana Maria was based in Washington, D.C., where she held a series of roles within international organizations working with Fortune 500 companies, governments, business leaders, and entrepreneurs.

She worked at IDBLab, the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, where she was responsible for the Technologies for Financial Inclusion Program and managed the Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas. An initiative supported by the World Bank, United Nations, PepsiCo, Dell, and Facebook, among other Fortune 500 Companies, and organized by the Organization of American States.

Ana has worked with more than 100 countries and traveled to over 50, where she has been invited as a speaker, mentor, and judge on topics related to innovation, sustainable development, social impact, business and ecosystem development, women in business, and global leadership.

Ana lives in London and loves connecting with entrepreneurs and ecosystem enablers to foster innovation and collaboration to create impact.
