Berhanu Gebremichael Challa

A seasoned BDS specialist, venture capital, UNTAD entrepreneurship certified trainer, Master BDS trainer, entrepreneurial ecosystem builder, venture development strategist, B2B network architect, social entrepreneurship expert, innovative projects developer and Human-centric Approach follower, making a substantial impact on the individuals as well as organizations he has worked with.

Currently, Berhanu is the Secretary General of Ethiopian Business Advisory Service Providers Association (EBASPA), Regional Ambassador for Technovation International Program and lead at Conovation Entrepreneurship Development established in 2015. Besides, Berhanu is the visionary and Chairperson of the Board of Directors in Yegara Trading Share Company which is a national private sector development hub established by professionals from all regions in Ethiopia to build a connected global business.

As a lead and co-founder, he focuses on delivering comprehensive as well as customised entrepreneurial tech solutions, building circular economy, facilitating business development projects, developing talents, accelerating social innovation programs, providing capacity development programs, and delivering business incubation/innovation services. His organizations mainly focus on entrepreneurship training, mentorship, business advisory services, startup incubation initiatives and research.

Besides, he is the General Manager for African Entrepreneurship Center (CASE), renamed after Social Economy Advancing Foundation in Ethiopia (SAFE) from 2013 to 2022. CASE works on social enterprise initiatives which have been developed in the past ten years under Berhanu’s leadership and vision.

Berhanu holds MA degree in Development Studies and is furthering his Ph.D. research on cooperative entrepreneurship at AAU. Besides he is the Chapter Ambassador for Technology Entrepreneurship for Girls (Technovation) in Ethiopia.

Through his professional association and initiatives, he actively contributes to advancing social innovation, social enterprise development, talent development, entrepreneurship initiatives and promoting best private sector development practices.
