I knew nothing about Intellectual Property (IP), but when I started maternity cover at MacLachlan IP (formerly Ansons) as an Administrative Assistant in 1998, I realised how IP is woven into every aspect of work, home, leisure, sport, music, and more. When the maternity cover ended, I was offered a permanent position and leapt at the chance to learn more about this essential subject. I started training as a Trade Mark Attorney in 2005, later qualifying as an ordinary member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys.

I discovered that while every business has IP, not all businesses protect these valuable assets. Now I love to educate businesses of all sizes about Intellectual Property, i.e., trade marks, patents, copyright, design, etc., and I talk on the subject whenever the opportunity arises, helping pave the way to protecting these valuable assets.
