Meegan E. Scott
Bio
Meegan Scott is the founder and Secretariat Coordinator for The Community of Practice for Caribbean Immigrant Entrepreneurs. She is also the owner of Magate Wildhorse Ltd. Meegan has almost two decades of experience in strategic management—serving in both local and international development. Her practice terrain lies at the convergence of corporate strategy; strategy execution; social research; program management; change management; marketing; international trade, performance management and measurement.
Prior to establishing The Community of Practice (CoP) for Caribbean Immigrant Entrepreneurs she founded Magate Wildhorse Ltd. Before that Meegan wore the twin hats of Incubator Marketing Manager and strategic management consultant to client entities of the incubator. She also served as Corporate Strategy Planner to the National Environment and Planning Agency in Jamaica. In addition, Meegan brings experience serving in financial services, water, sanitation, health, environment, education, library and information. She brings first-hand knowledge and experience of the entrepreneur’s journey through her travels as a serial entrepreneur.
The Community of Practice for Caribbean Immigrant Entrepreneurs is an NGO, a hybrid CoP and marketplace that aims provide capacity building, market linkages, a trading and research hub, networking, shared learning and more reducing the entrepreneurial skills gap among Caribbean immigrant and diaspora entrepreneurs in all of the Regions's diasporic markets.
Meegan brings knowledge of market systems development, evaluating private sector development programmes, in addition to entrepreneurship, development and trade to the The CoP.
She has supported entrepreneurs individually as well as through Government and donor funded initiatives in the Caribbean and Canada.
And is experienced in bring the Caribbean and its diaspora together for capacity building, national, and regional development under the structure of an international NGO.
Meegan holds a Bachelors of Social Science in International Relations; an MBA (Marketing and finance focused); the designation PMP, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analysis. She has also studied International Trade and International Environmental Law.
