Dan continues the effort initiated in 2022 with the co-re-founding of the Code for Vegas Brigade of Code for America times as the stand-alone Code for Vegas Foundation in 2022, then re-named to encourage non-coder participation and to match the momentum driving the Global Innovation Hub that may be the Greater Vegas area, as the Innovate for Vegas Foundation, a Nevada Nonprofit Corporation and 501(c)(3) public charity with stated purpose, “To enable and encourage ideation, innovation, and implementation to make our communities better.” As Managing Director, Dan wears many hats in this all-volunteer organization pursuing activities facilitated by the Foundation toward Civic Innovation at large, as well as the activities and pursuits of the Cohort of Civic Volunteers pursuing Initiatives in the realm of Civic Innovation so take part in the cultivate of a Culture of Innovation and Community Elevation.

Identified as an ESO in a recent state-wide study of the Nevada Entrepreneurial Landscape, Dan also drives the Caffe Genius project, dedicated to analyzing and developing the Entrepreneurial Innovation Ecosystem of Greater Vegas through activities like the Pitch Workout Room and Pitch Mingle for the earliest beginnings of pitching new ideas, to the Genius Roundtable focused in its first cohort on identifying and analyzing fundamental elements of our Ecosystem. A second cohort will adopt a Community of Practice approach and will couple efforts by those in the cohort with direct outreach to the people of Greater Vegas with rolling introspective engagement. Dan Publishes podcast programs for both the Innovate for Vegas Foundation and Caffe Genius weekly, among other relevant pursuits.

Having spent some 15 years in Silicon Valley beginning in the interesting times that were the Dot Com Boom, Dan spent time working on or with a full range of possibilities, from four-person startups to Apple Computer Corp to Philips Electronics North America, focused on everything from graphics accelerator cards to cell phones to smart cards to video capture and compression to educational toys… a broad range of hands-on experiences to be sure. At the same time Dan took part in the Leadership Sunnyvale program to learn more about how a city functions, continuing on to form a podcast platform with multiple programs to engage the people of Sunnyvale and Beyond with local news and commentary as well as co-founding a mobile food vendor business league for the Food Trucks of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dan graduated in 1993 with a degree in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College, an institution known for its Engineering Program, its diverse educational pursuits in general, and its long-running industry-sponsored Clinic Program, which connects student project teams to real-world projects, the earliest days of Entrepreneurial Innovation in that academic setting.
