As ISM founder Faris works with international companies on technologies, leadership, entrepreneurship and culture programs. He is a special advisor and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Expert with the World Bank on economic development programs ranging from entrepreneurship, small and medium enterprise development, talent, funding and much more. He is a business advisor with the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Wayne State University and Babson College. Working with several business incubators, Faris managed over 100 start-ups, planned and directed entrepreneurial training, talent, and several international initiatives/programs.Faris is an affiliate with Kauffman Foundation, and facilitate their FastTrac program. He also facilitates a Global Trade Mission program for high school students in which they learn how to launch a global technology company. Faris also mentors University of Michigan MBA students and serves on the Board of several organizations.
The road to business excellence began for Faris when he started a marketing company in Tucson, Arizona at age 18. Since that time, and in increasingly demanding roles, he has served nonprofit organizations, five-star resorts, national marketing companies, fledgling companies, and major department store chains, and lent his expertise to service, wholesale and retail companies. Under his management, one client company experienced a 1300% increase in membership. Another reduced product returns by 58%, and a third company cut employee turnover by 92%. Frequently requested as a speaker by agencies, Faris presents topics such as: entrepreneurship, international business, generational diversity in the workplace, cross-cultural differences, strategies for employee retention, making time work for you, and bringing peace to the Middle East.
Faris has served on funding committees and investment up to $250,000 dollars, and supported several business incubators and accelerators, managing entrepreneurs’ fund in which investments of $1,000 to $7,000 were made.In addition, he coached, mentored, and supported 1000 entrepreneurs in raising fund for their start-ups in technology- based businesses and non-technology businesses such as restaurants, coffee shops and other professional services. Today he serves as a strategic advisor to several entrepreneurship education programs and business hubs for the purpose of raising funds and growing businesses.
