The Entrepreneurship Society of Informatics Institute of Technology is a very active and popular student club among the IIT student fraternity and is well known for the innovative activities that they engage in. The mission of the Entrepreneurship Society of Informatics Institute of Technology is to advance the theory, practice, and application of entrepreneurial thinking including the ability to recognize new business opportunities, to amass resources and launch a new venture for IIT students. events are organised around the main themes including women in business, corporate entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. many emerging and established entrepreneurs have been featured in the various events organised to share best practices of successful entrepreneurs.
The Entrepreneurship Society of Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) organized a webinar on social entrepreneurship. Umanga Kulasekera, founder and owner of the popular label UDAK , shared her experiences with the audience. this event was streamed live on facebook and was open to the public.
The Entrepreneurship Society of Informatics Institute of Technology invited Dr. Dilesha Perera, co-founder and director of La Vivente, a popular fashion label among the youth to IIT students. she discussed her entrepreneurial journey and students were eager to interact with her and hear her success story. it was a very interesting session since the students could meet and hear from a real-life entrepreneur who was eager to share tips and strategies that helped her reach the pinnacle of success. the event was streamed live on Facebook and was open to IIT students.
Entrepreneurship society organized a visit to the good harvest festival in December 2022. this event brought together small and medium entrepreneurs that were using organic fertilizers and supported home grown businesses.
The Entrepreneurship Society of Informatics Institute of Technology organized an all women CEO panel under the theme #shetalks. This forum included CEO of Footsteps Global and Footsteps Preschool, Mrs Fazra Irfan, CEO and founder of High Octane Fitness, Ashanthi Weerasinghe and Dr. Dilesha Perera, CEO and Founder of La Vivente. The forum was followed by a raffle draw.
Fathhi Mohamed, co-founder of PickMe, and Yoho. - a true visionary in the world of entrepreneurship shared his insights with IIT business school students. The event was well attended and students were inspired by his success story.
