Julie Momah

"Julie’s outstanding professional skill, knowledge, and leadership have, undoubtedly, brought her to where she is today. She is the dynamic Deputy Director and Centre Manager of Technology Incubation Centre, Lagos and in this capacity has been assisting Small Scale budding entrepreneurs in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole, to overcome the initial hurdles of breeding viable research and development [R&D] result and other technologies into profitable enterprises.
Born in 1967, life for young Julie started at Salvation Army Primary School where she did her primary education between 1973 and 1979, before proceeding to New Era Girls Secondary School where she started Secondary education which she obtained her A’ Level certificate at the renowned St Gregory College in 1979-1984. Dr. (Mrs.) Momah, a stickler for details, obtained her BSc in Political Science from the Lagos State University between 1987 and 1991.
Certainly wasn’t one to rest on her oars, she proceeded to University of Lagos to do a Master Degree programme in International Law and Diplomacy (1992-1994) but apparently not contented with all her educational achievements, she still went further to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma in Technology Management from the Obafemi Awolowo University (2001-2002). Julie Momah is well read and has obtained yet another degree-a doctorate in Technology Management from the University of Station Florida.
She worked as an International Consultant on Incubation Management and Network and Growthwheel Business Advisor within and outside Africa. Before becoming the Deputy Director at National Board for Technology Incubation, Julie Momah was the Centre Manager of Technology Incubation Centre, Benin from the period of 1999 until 2014. She is also the Centre Manager of Technology Incubation Centre, Lagos, and the South-West Zonal Coordinator for the National Board for Technology Incubation. “She has transformed the incubators she has worked in from organizations troubled by high profile technical and operational challenges into a highly effective bodies with 96% of customers satisfied with the services her staff provide by altering procedures and adopting a ‘can do’ approach, putting the people the Centres are supposed to be helping at the top of her priority list rather than at the bottom”. This has accelerated the growth of viable and competitive entrepreneurs in those incubators. Prior to joining the Federal establishment, Julie Momah held several positions in Onard International Limited where she honed her business acumen

Julie Momah is presently the Chairperson Africa Incubation Network. She is also an accredited trainer for Infodev World Bank on incubation programme in Africa. She has devoted over two decade of her adult life in nurturing the growth of technology based enterprise and the budding of cottage industries in Nigeria; she has been to many countries like, United kingdom ,USA, China, South Africa, Brazil, Finland, Ethiopia, Kenya, Poland ,Italy ,etc, setting up incubators and participating in incubation and entrepreneurship conferences.
Dr. Julie Momah has many awards, publications; seminar and conference papers, productive works as well as Articles on professional issues, among the award are

She is a popular figure and a prolific speaker in Seminars, workshops and Conferences, and she has presented papers in several local and international events. Julie is also an active member of the Pan-African Competitiveness Forum and a Coordinator of Successful Business and Entrepreneurial Trainings in Nigeria.
She is unusual because she is a female Manager in a world populated by men but she is keen to rid the world of stereotypes and uses her status to promote diversity and encourage women to be successful entrepreneurs particularly in male dominated areas in business.”
