Venture Capital in Tulsa Panel
Join us for a conversation with some of the most prominent Venture Capital funds in Tulsa that are located at the 36°N high-growth tech Incubator in City Hall. You don't want to miss this overview of the Venture Capitalist perspective. They'll cover topics like approaching a fund, structuring your pitch, and negotiating terms. The panel will wrap up with time for public Q&A!
Panelists:
Taleya Mayberry-Smith currently serves as the Program Director for ACT Tulsa, a 6 month accelerator aimed at closing the equity gap for Black and Latino led startups. As a Tulsa native, Taleya is dedicated to building strategic relationships within the city's rising ecosystem and assisting founders to grow and develop their businesses. Prior to the ACT Tulsa program, Taleya coached Division I basketball at the University of Tulsa and played professionally overseas for 4 years.
Tracy Poole is the Founder and Managing Partner of FortySix Venture Capital, a venture capital fund manager based in Tulsa, OK. He is an attorney with 25+ years of experience in complex commercial transactions, M&A, financing, energy and venture capital disciplines. Tracy is the former General Counsel of an energy-related hedge fund and the founder of an independent upstream oil and gas producer.
Dr. William D. Paiva is the Managing Partner of OLSF Ventures, which is an early-stage health care fund, operational in the State of Oklahoma for 20 years. In parallel and over the last six years, Dr. Paiva stood up Oklahoma State University's Center for Health Systems Innovation (CHSI) with a focus on transforming rural and Native America. Dr. Paiva holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Oklahoma; an MBA from Dartmouth College's Amos Tuck School of Business.
Susan Moring is an Investment Principal at Cortado Ventures, an Oklahoma City-based venture capital firm investing in early-stage tech companies. In her role at Cortado, Susan manages all aspects of the investment process including deal sourcing, due diligence, and post-investment portfolio company support. A startup enthusiast, Susan has spent the bulk of her career supporting entrepreneurs and contributing to the growth of Oklahoma’s startup ecosystem through programs like OU’s I-CCEW, OK Coders, The Mine, OKEMP, and Techstars Global Startup Weekend.
