As part of the activities celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week, “Tamkeen” is holding an exceptional event to showcase the experiences of a number of Bahraini institutions in growing and expanding locally and regionally.
His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mufiz, Chief Executive Officer of the Labor Fund “Tamkeen”, Ms. Dalal Al-Ghais, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Development Bank Group, and a number of members of the Board of Directors of the Labor Fund “Tamkeen”, and officials from the public and private sectors, the Labor Fund “Tamkeen” held an exceptional event to showcase the experiences of a number of Bahraini institutions that have succeeded in growth and expansion.
This event represents one aspect of cooperation between the SME Development Board, which includes in its membership, in addition to the Labor Fund “Tamkeen”, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Economic Development Board, and the Bahrain Development Bank, and the “Startup Bahrain” initiative.
The event included a panel discussion with a select group of investors, entrepreneurs, and experts in various economic fields, addressing the most important things investors look for in founders, financing, and the future of growth. Participants included Louka Barbe, Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Saudi Technology Ventures (STV), Karim Abadir, Investment Partner at BECO Capital, and Waleed Mansour, Founder and CEO of MEVP.
A number of outstanding experiences of Bahraini institutions were also reviewed, followed by a discussion session with the participation of the owners of these institutions, namely Eat App, Flooss, Lola, and Remote Apps, which highlighted their experience in growth and expansion within the local and regional market.
This event comes as part of the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025, which is one of the initiatives of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), and includes a variety of events and activities that aim to showcase the latest developments in the field of entrepreneurship worldwide, and to host a select group of experts, specialists and entrepreneurs with inspiring experiences, which is in line with Tamkeen’s ongoing efforts to support innovation and enhance the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom through specialized initiatives and support programs that help entrepreneurs develop and expand their projects, acquire entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, and raise the necessary funding to achieve success in the field of entrepreneurship.
This is also in line with the strategic priorities of the Labor Fund for 2025, which are to enhance the position and competitiveness of Bahraini citizens in the private sector, provide Bahrainis with the appropriate skills for career development in the private sector, and give priority to the growth, digitization and sustainability of institutions.
