The highly anticipated GEC+Africa is scheduled to take place in Cape Town from 13-14 March 2024. Hosted by Global Entrepreneurship Network in collaboration with esteemed partners, this congress aims to bring together entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders from over 43 African countries, fostering collaboration and advancing entrepreneurial initiatives across the continent.
Originally launched at the Global Entrepreneurship Network in 2017, GEC+Africa is a flagship event dedicated to supporting and connecting African entrepreneurs with global resources and investor networks.
In partnership with the Western Cape Provincial Government, Department of Small Business Development, SAB Foundation, Allan and Gill Gray Philanthropy South Africa, UNDP, South African Tourism, African Bank, Telkom, and Cape Innovation Technology Initiative, the congress is poised to be a pivotal moment in the African entrepreneurial landscape.
Over 1,500 delegates, including startups, small and medium enterprises (SMMEs), investors, policymakers, entrepreneurship support organisations, and corporates, are expected to converge in the Mother City. With the congress promising to convene key ecosystem players critical to the development of SMMEs and startups on the continent.
GEN Africa, the driving force behind GEC+Africa, is committed to supporting and connecting African entrepreneurs with global resources and investor networks. The congress will feature international thought leaders and practitioners who have contributed to GEN's global movement, advancing entrepreneurship as a catalyst for economic growth and human welfare.
Managed by 22 On Sloane, Africa's largest startup campus based in Johannesburg, GEC+Africa will provide a platform to create a coordinated, consolidated, and collaborative entrepreneurial ecosystem. The congress will also advocate for policies that drive sustainable growth for entrepreneurs on the continent.
