The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and IDB Lab, the innovation and venture arm of the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB Group), today announced the opening of applications for the inaugural GET Fellows cohort, a new program designed to strengthen entrepreneurship ecosystem leadership across Latin America and the Caribbean.
The GET Fellows program is built on a simple premise: entrepreneurs thrive when the organizations, investors, and public leaders who support them are connected, trusted, and equipped to collaborate across borders.
Across Latin America and the Caribbean, ecosystem builders play a critical role in helping founders access capital, knowledge, markets, and opportunities. Yet many of their organizations remain disconnected from global networks, limiting their ability to mobilize partnerships and resources in favor of the entrepreneurs they serve.
GET Fellows aims to address these challenges by investing in the people and relationships that strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems. Fellows are expected to indirectly support more than 1,400 entrepreneurs over the next two years.
Each year, the program will bring together 50 carefully selected ecosystem leaders from across the region. Through a year-long experience, Fellows will build meaningful relationships with peers, connect with the architects behind proven ecosystem-building approaches from around the world, and gain visibility with global partners that can help strengthen their organizations and ecosystems.
As part of the broader GET Platform, the GET Fellows program is designed to create lasting relationships and unlock new opportunities for visibility, collaboration, and engagement across the platform's forums, insights, and global partner network.
The GET Fellows journey
Selected Fellows will gain access to a year-long experience combining peer learning, global networking, and strategic opportunities designed to increase the impact of their organizations and the entrepreneurs they serve.
The 12-month fellowship experience combines virtual and in-person programming, community-building activities, regional and global networking opportunities, and collaborative learning experiences. As part of the program, Fellows will participate in the GET Forum, the flagship gathering of the GET Platform, where they will accelerate connections with ecosystem leaders, investors, policymakers, and global partners from across Latin America and the Caribbean and around the world. The 2026 GET Forum will take place October 5–7 in Quito, Ecuador.
The first cohort of the GET Fellows program is open to:
- Leaders of incubators, accelerators, and other entrepreneur support organizations (ESOs)
Leaders of active angel investor networks and syndicates
Public-sector leaders responsible for entrepreneurship, innovation, startup development or investment-readiness initiatives
The program fee is US $1,500 per Fellow. GEN and IDB Lab will cover Fellows’ GET Forum registration fees and four nights of hotel accommodations in Quito. To ensure broad representation across the region, additional support in the form of partial scholarships will be available for select participants.
Applications are now open through July 22, 2026. The inaugural cohort of 50 Fellows will be announced in August 2026.
